Background

Solving environmental problems requires an informed and active civil society that brings about change at the individual and societal levels.

With Sembramos, we want to empower the residents of Morazán to work together and contribute their own ideas to a healthy environment and the ecologically sustainable development of their community. The participants should thus become agents of the change they want to see in their society.

Project Work

In the theoretical component of the SEMBRAMOS projects, young people and local organizations take part in workshops that provide knowledge on environmental protection, waste management and recycling, tree and vegetable cultivation, plant care, and reforestation.

In the practical component, participants are equipped with tools and hands-on skills that allow them to directly apply what they have learned in theory. In addition, they are encouraged to independently develop and implement innovative projects.

Focus areas and further development

In the area of environment and climate, the acquisition of a plot of land in northern Morazán has laid the foundation for the continued operation of the already established tree nursery. Many additional seedlings are being cultivated there, creating the basis for a long-term reforestation project that will span many years.

With the additional tree nursery, a space is being created to host training sessions and events for the three programs of Fundación Consciente.
